Hello, My Name is Katya

While completing my bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations with minors in Spanish and Political Science, I also completed the first year of the Global Strategic Communication master's degree program at Loyola University Chicago. As someone who speaks English as their primary language, I believe it is so important to emphasize the importance of learning new languages, especially in the field of communication, where messages reach people all across the globe. I chose Political Science as my second minor as I think it is important to know the features of the government systems across the globe, along with the fact that it is a subject that interests me.

In addition to education, my passions include reading, writing, and travel. A goal of mine is to write and publish a book in the future; following the completion of an online creative writing course I took at my university, I feel greatly excited about this goal! In terms of reading, it is my favorite hobby, and I always look forward to moments of discussing and seeing excitement around a book after finishing it. One of the facets I love about Advertising and Public Relations, and communication overall, is the writing component that is so deeply ingrained in the field.

I am currently looking for an internship for the summer or fall of 2024 in the communication or marketing fields. As a member of Loyola's School of Communication honor society, the Beta Rho chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, I am always aiming to learn more and more about the communication field in both school and work!
